ReplyDelete5.3! w00t!!
ReplyDeleteDoes it still include PHP 4?
ReplyDeleteNo, MAMP / MAMP PRO 1.9 does not include PHP 4 any more (see http://www.mamp.info/en/documentation/releases.html). But if you need MAMP with PHP 4 you can download MAMP / MAMP PRO 1.8.4 from our download page (bottom of the page "revious MAMP versions" / http://www.mamp.info/en/downloads/index.html).
ReplyDeleteThank you for php5.3 but please put php4 back! What gives? We're developing some php scripts for sale and gotta make sure it works in php4!
ReplyDeleteI have asked this in numerous places but alas -- no answer. How do I add other PHP extensions to Mamp PRO? Why is WDDX not included?
ReplyDeleteIf you wish any addition extension please fill a feature request at http://bugs.mamp.info
ReplyDeleteIt looks like MAMP is currently unusable with Movable Type 5 -- one of the leading reasons you'd want to use MAMP.
ReplyDeleteMT has always required the "DBD::mysql" PERL module, which MAMP doesn't have, in order to use MySql with MT. Apparently this module is way beyond the ability of non-server-administrators to install properly:
http://forum.mamp.info/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1204&start=0
In order to avoid that, you could formerly use SQLite instead. But now MT5 has dropped support for SQLite. So currently MAMP is effectively obsolete for use with Movable Type.
MAMP needs this "DBD::mysql" module as part of the basic MAMP package -- and quick.
Also MT lists optional Perl module that it seems would be good for MAMP to have:
http://movabletype.org/documentation/system-requirements.html#perl
Remember that the whole point of MAMP is to make it easy for people who *aren't* server administrators to get a typical hosted server environment functioning locally -- without 6 months of study, configuring, and tears required :) Out-of-the-box MAMP support for the leading CMS systems should be the plan.
Thanks
It would be wonderful if you would include ruby/rails and python with the MAMP package.
ReplyDeleteThanks for released MAMP. I will download MAMP :)
ReplyDeletegreat stuff! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for MAMP. Great product!
ReplyDeleteWill it ever be possible to close the mamp window instead of hiding it?
ReplyDeleteJust something minor that bugs me a little every time I have to hide it.
I've download this version and appreciate your hard work. I'm at a loss, though, to find the php error log. Supposedly it's in Applications/MAMP/logs, but all that's there are apache and mysql error logs. I really need it!
ReplyDeletehow can I use python with mamp and mysql
ReplyDeleteWhy does the download link go to a 404 Page?
ReplyDeleteSorry. I've fixed this.
ReplyDeleteeven though my connection is strong at >15Mb/s, this download crawls at 16k / second. What gives?
ReplyDeleteany mirrors for this download?
